6. Great Wall of China



One of the most significant masonry works on earth is the Great Wall of China built between 221–206 BC by Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a series of 6,259.6 km sections of actual wall, 359.7 km long trenches and of 2,232.5 km natural defensive barriers that was constructed to defend the Chinese Empire against the Mongol nomads’ invasion. The Great Wall of China is enlisted in the top 10 wonders of the world.
